ONLINE BURLESQUE CLASSES

I’m excited to announce that I am teaching ONLINE burlesque classes! Now you can learn from me anywhere in the world! I have been using Patreon for a few months as a platform for my fan club and I got the idea that this platform could work well for an online school. Patreon makes it easy to choose your level based on the things you would like to learn. If you are burlesque curious, fitness minded, or a seasoned pro, there is something here for you.

As I have run Studio L’amour in Chicago for 9 years, I know the obstacles in getting to class. You don’t have the time, your friend can’t make it, you’re sick, you’re nervous about what to expect, etc. Well, now, you have all the time in the world and you can do it in the privacy in your own home so there’s nothing to be nervous about! Join Michelle L’amour in Los Angeles for Boa Love! The boa is a classic element of burlesque. Learn fun and innovative ways to play with your feather boa and keep the spark alive! Please bring your own feather boa. You can get inexpensive boas at a fabric store if you don’t want to splurge on the ostrich feather! Please wear comfortable clothing. Heels are optional.

We will incorporate floor work with slow and sensual movements. We will also discuss the importance of stillness and presence. Doing nothing IS something!

Prance, Pose, Parade

My new class, Showgirl Style, is starting on May 2nd at Studio L’amour! For 4 weeks in May, we will work on parading and posing like the showgirls of Paris and Vegas. Headdresses will be provided for maximum strutting power!

Showgirl Style

Thank you for a fantastic birthday week and for coming out to my birthday show at Untitled. I LOVE jumping out of cakes!

Now, there are lots of fun things going on this week, not to mention my fresh excitement about dancing! I went to a ballet class for the first time in years last night and I’m just buzzing about it. But, more on that some other time.

First, my new TeaseTip is up at BurlyQ.com. It’s all about what is takes to follow your dreams and how important the ‘hustle’ is when you’re in the arts. I’m really enjoying writing these expanded Tease Tips, so I hope you will check it out.

Second, on April 23, Studio L’amour is having another Studio L’amour Teaser! This is a showcase of students, teachers and performers from the Chicago cabaret scene. It’s a very informal gathering to encourage the growth and development of acts in our city. I’ll be hosting, and that is always a fun time! Hope to see you there!

Finally, the new session is now available for Studio L’amour. Classes begin again on May 1st. I’ll be teaching a new class called ‘Showgirl’. It’s going to be an hour of parading, posing and prancing! Make sure to register for this and other classes here.
